Educational Background

Dr. Anthony Cabrera earned his medical degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and completed his specialization in ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario. His post-doctoral fellowship training was in cornea and ocular pathology at McGill University in Montreal.


Refractive Experience

After completing his post graduate training, Dr. Cabrera practiced ophthalmology in New Brunswick for four years. In that time, he gained expertise in a wide variety of eye surgery procedures, including cataract surgery, cornea surgery, and laser surgery of the eyelids and retina. Dr. Cabrera has performed over 7,000 laser vision correction procedures. He performs conventional as well as custom LASIK treatments and is experienced in the VISX and Bausch & Lomb Z100 excimer laser platforms.


Accomplishments and Awards


Dr. Cabrera earned certifications in presbyopia reversal surgery in 1998, and multifocal implants for presbyopia in 2006. He has performed ophthalmic surgery, taught surgical techniques and assisted in establishing eye clinics in developing countries.
