LASIK MD Laser Eye SurgerySurgery – Step One

Your laser eye surgery process involves two steps: making the corneal flap and reshaping your cornea with the laser. For step one, a precision microkeratome is placed on the surface of your eye and held in place by a gentle vacuum. The microkeratome then creates a very thin flap of corneal tissue on the surface of your eye. Our locations use the Bausch & Lomb's Zero Compression Microkeratome as their flap making device.

The wide adoption of the microkeratomes by laser eye surgeons around the world has created a large pool of data and research to confirm its safety and effectiveness. At LASIK MD, our laser eye surgeons are highly skilled and trained in mastering this process of flap making. Your eyes are in good hands.
